Secure email attachments

Send secure files by email without placing the original file in the inbox.

Stormkey encrypts files locally in your browser. You send a protected file link by email and share the password link separately through Signal, WhatsApp, phone, or another channel.

1. Choose a file

The file stays on your device while the browser prepares it.

2. Encrypt locally

Stormkey creates a protected file using AES-256-GCM.

3. Share separately

Send the file link by email and the password link through a second channel.

Why email alone is not enough

Email is convenient, but inboxes are forwarded, synced, searched, and archived for a long time. If the file and password sit in the same thread, the protection is much weaker.

Stormkey separates the content from the transport: the email carries only the protected file link. Access depends on the password and context you share separately.

Best practice: send the protected file link by email, then share the password link through another channel.

Can the recipient open the file without a Stormkey account?

Depending on the flow, recipients can open the protected file through Stormkey. The key point remains: share the password separately.

Is this suitable for customer data?

Stormkey reduces risk during file transport. Whether it fits a specific compliance case depends on your internal rules and data classification.
